Editorial Policy
This page sets out how content about Royal Vegas Casino is researched, checked, attributed and corrected on this site. It applies to every page we publish, and it is the standard readers can hold us to. Who we are is on the About page; how the site is funded is on the Affiliate Disclosure page.
1. Editorial independence
What we write about Royal Vegas is decided by the documents, not by the commercial relationship. The operator does not see pages before publication, does not approve wording and cannot request that a clause be left out. If a term works against players, such as the 70x playthrough on the welcome package or the reversible pending period on withdrawals, it is described as clearly as a term that works in their favour.
2. Sources we trust
Sources are ranked, and higher-ranked sources win when they disagree:
- The operator's own New Zealand documents. The NZ terms and conditions, promotion terms, withdrawal policy, banking page and FAQ, read on the NZ locale of the official site.
- Regulators and public bodies. The Department of Internal Affairs for New Zealand law and timelines, the Kahnawake Gaming Commission for the licence, eCOGRA for dispute resolution.
- The live product. What the cashier, registration form and account settings actually show.
- Third-party reviews and forums. Used only as leads. A figure that appears only here is not published as fact.
3. Fact-checking
Every number on the main page is tied to a named source: a clause, a policy page or a banner. Before an update goes live, each figure is re-read against that source. Where the operator's own pages contradict each other, for example three different game counts on the NZ locale, we show the contradiction rather than pick the most flattering number. Claims we could not trace to a primary source are listed as unconfirmed.
4. Quotation, paraphrase and attribution
Clause numbers are given so readers can find the original wording themselves. Short phrases from operator documents may be quoted; longer passages are paraphrased and attributed. External links point to the original source, such as a DIA page, not to a page that summarises it.
5. Authorship and AI assistance
Each page has a named author, Dean Ryan, who is responsible for every claim on it. Software tools may help with formatting, spelling or layout, but no figure, clause reference or conclusion is published without being checked by the author against its source.
6. Corrections and updates
If a fact on this site is wrong, we fix it. Send the page address, the claim and, where possible, the source showing the correct figure through the Contact page. Substantive corrections are made promptly and the page's update date changes. We do not silently rewrite a page to hide an error that affected readers' decisions. Correspondence about corrections is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.
7. Freshness
The main page states the date its figures were taken from the operator's documents. Terms move, so readers should treat that date as part of the claim. Pages are re-checked when the operator publishes a new version of its NZ terms, when the Department of Internal Affairs changes the licensing timeline, and whenever a reader reports a discrepancy.
8. Conflict of interest
The site earns commission when readers register with Royal Vegas through its links. That is a conflict of interest, and the safeguard is transparency: the funding model is disclosed, the sources are named and the unfavourable terms stay on the page. The author does not accept payment from the operator for specific wording. Which cookies are involved after a reader clicks an affiliate link is set out in the Cookie Policy.
9. Reader safety
Gambling content on this site is written for adults aged 18 and over. We do not describe gambling as income, we do not encourage chasing losses, and every page links to help. Free, confidential support is available 24/7 from the Gambling Helpline NZ on 0800 654 655. More is on the Responsible Gambling page.
10. Complaints, escalation and right of reply
Readers and the operator can both challenge what we publish. A challenge needs a specific claim and a documented basis. If the documents support the challenge, the page changes; if they do not, we explain why the wording stays. Complaints about Royal Vegas itself, rather than about this site, belong with the operator, then eCOGRA, then the Kahnawake Gaming Commission.
