Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information this site collects, why, and what rights you have over it. It is written for visitors in New Zealand and follows the Privacy Act 2020. Cookies are covered in more detail on the Cookie Policy page.
1. What this site is
This is an independent information resource about Royal Vegas Casino. It is not a casino, it has no player accounts and it takes no payments. You can read every page without registering or giving us any personal information. More about the site is on the About page, and how its content is checked is on the Editorial Policy page.
2. New Zealand privacy law
The Privacy Act 2020 sets out information privacy principles on how personal information is collected, stored, used and disclosed, and gives you the right to ask for access to, and correction of, information held about you. The Act is overseen by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
3. What data this site collects
Very little, by design:
- Server logs. Like almost every website, the server records technical details of each request: IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page and the time. These logs are used to keep the site running and to block abusive traffic.
- Messages you send us. If you write to the editorial team or to the author, Dean Ryan, we keep your message and contact details so we can reply and keep a record of corrections.
We do not ask for, and do not want, identity documents, card numbers or casino account details. Please do not send them.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
This site does not set its own analytics or advertising cookies. When you follow a link to Royal Vegas, the operator and its affiliate programme may set their own cookies on their own domains. Details are on the Cookie Policy page.
5. Affiliate links and operator-side tracking
Buttons and images that lead to Royal Vegas pass through an internal /go address and then forward you to the operator. Once you arrive on the operator's site, its own privacy policy applies, including to anything you enter when you register. We do not receive your registration details, deposits or gameplay data; at most, an affiliate programme reports aggregated sign-up figures. 6. How long data is retained
Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting, then deleted. Correspondence is kept while it is relevant to a correction or an open question, and then deleted.
7. Who this site shares data with
We do not sell personal information. Information may be processed by the hosting provider that runs the server, solely to operate the site, and may be disclosed where the law requires it. We do not pass your details to Royal Vegas.
8. Where data is stored
The site's server may be located outside New Zealand. Where personal information is held overseas, we expect the hosting provider to protect it to a standard comparable to the Privacy Act 2020.
9. Your rights
You can ask whether we hold personal information about you, ask to see it, and ask for it to be corrected. Send the request through the Contact page. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
10. Children's privacy
This site is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and any message we learn came from a minor is deleted. If gambling is affecting you or someone in your family, free help is listed on the Responsible Gambling page.
11. Security
The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, access to server logs is restricted, and we keep the information we hold to a minimum, because data that is not collected cannot leak.
12. Changes to this policy
If our practices change, for example if analytics is added, this page and the "Last updated" date will be revised before the change takes effect.
